The Comet 73 Raised Saloon is an “ocean racer” with a classic layout, a high- performance hull designed for fast and safe sailing in all weather and sea conditions. The water lines, the keel and the rudder plan were purposefully designed and carefully studied to obtain a gutsy and fast boat that cuts well through the waves but that at the same time is very stable, balanced and safe. The Comet 73rs is designed to spend long hours at sea and brings together great stability and high self-righting momentum thanks to a cutting-edge bulb, available with two different drafts or with the lifting keel option. The sail area and displacement ratio make the Comet 73rs extremely versatile: perfect as a maxi racer as well as for fast cruising and for long ocean crossings. The yacht features a 9/10 rigging with swept-back spreaders. The use of a single movable, non-structural running backstay instead of a forestay ensures greater stability and ease of use. The Deck. Sunbathing areas are spacious and comfortable. The guest cockpit offers comfortable seating for both guests on board and those navigating alike. The position of the double steering system at the stern is studied to leave ample passage to cockpit seats. For maximum comfort, the numerous skylights that give great light in the interior are flush with the deck. All deck gear, abundant and oversized, is made by Harken. The Interiors. Interiors are available in a Standard version. The Yard has also come up with a number of other custom-made solutions and the Owner has the option of choosing the wood, as well as finishings and upholstery. The Construction. The structure is in sandwich composite, laminated in a vacuum, with unidirectional and biaxial fibers and with a with a Corecell core. This ensures excellent performance even in light summer winds, while manoeuvring in harbour and when sailing. The advanced construction technology is also a guarantee of absolute quality and more durability over time.
